Medical board conducts postmortem

SAMBA, July 17: A young house-wife died under mysterious circumstances at her in-laws house in Ramgarh area of district Samba today.
The police came to know about the matter after neighbours and parents of the woman informed them about the matter. While the parents of the deceased alleged that their daughter was murdered by husband and other family members, the neighbours said they did not inform them and tried to conceal the information. The in-laws claimed that deceased Paramjeet Kour (25), consumed some poison and she died.
The police after receiving information rushed to the Jedhra village near Ramgarh and took the body into custody. The police also recorded the statements of the family members and other locality members. The parents and relatives of the girl also reached there and took up the matter with the senior police officials and Tehsildar. On their request a Medical Board headed by BMO Ramgarh and comprising three other doctors conducted postmortem of the body. After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
SHO Ramgarh, K K Sharma when contacted said that police received information on telephone about the mysterious death of lady at Jedhar. She was married to Gurnam Singh hardly two and half years back. He said that immediate cause of death was not known and the things will be clear after autopsy report is received. He said a case under Section 174 CrPC has been registered and investigation started.
