JAMMU, May 9: Former MLA and J&K BJP spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania has urged upon the LG Administration to take some effective steps with respect to management of Covid crisis in district Udhampur.
In a letter addressed to LG Manoj Sinha, Pathania strongly advocated for establishing a dedicated separate COVID care hospital at district headquarters and for coping with work force issues, he laid stress on need to embark on fast track recruitment of anesthetists, physicians and trained ICU nurses.
He said that to ensure that no Covid patient suffers, at least 10 ventilators with oxygen support should be fixing and operationalised at CHC Ramnagar, CHC Chenani, PHC Majalta, PHC Basangarh and PHC Panchari. In addition to this, he emphasized that adequate arrangements should be made for aggressive vaccination in all the far-flung pockets of district Udhampur irrespective of the fact that there is a health institution in that pocket or not.
“Now that the marriage season is over, there should be immediate ban on all congregations except those to be permitted by the district/local administration in super-exceptional circumstances and videography of the function should be carried out,” he said, adding, Government should also make a provision for dropping/picking of COVID positive patients to and fro from homes to hospitals and vice versa in Government ambulances maintained with COVID protocol.
The former MLA also advised the LG Administration to create separate COVID wards with 20-50 bedded capacity, each in CHC Ramnagar, CHC Chenani, PHC Majalta, PHC Basangarh and PHC Panchari. He also laid stress on taking adequate steps to prevent black marketing of oximeters, oxygen concentrators and essential medicines required for COVID treatment.
