KHOON (Majalta), May 7: BJP spokesperson, Ranbir Singh Pathania today toured various parts of Udhampur and interacted with farmers whose crops have been damaged due to incessant and untimely rains at the peak of harvesting season in Jaganoo, Ramnagar, Majalta, Khoon, Battal Ballian and other places.
Demanding compensation for the crop losses Pathania said that these unseen crop losses have broken the back of farmers.
“Rabi crops constitute economic lifeline of agriculturists. Due to untimely rains, either the farmers have not been able to harvest crops or wheat grains have re-sprouted or turned black which has caused serious disappointment among the farming community,” he maintained.
The BJP leader talked about many provisions for farmers and added that these interventions incentivized through various schemes and projects have led to improved quality and quantity of produce in the region.
“However, the challenge remains in integrating smallholders’ produce with market systems that are both effective and transparent,” he continued.
Those who accompanied the BJP leader were Gopal Singh Mankotia, Mohan Lal Sharma, Shiv Ram, Baldev Singh Mankotia, Anil Sharma, Ved Pal, Shukar Din, Charan Das and others.
