HARIDWAR, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a grand programme was organized under the stewardship of Swami Ramdev at Patanjli Wellness Centre, Patanjli Yogpeeth-II while Acharya Balkrishan joined Union Minister Hardeep Puri in a Yoga session at Red Fort.
Speaking at the Wellness Centre programme, Swami Ramdev said that Yoga is cultural heritage of India, which teaches us to live a disciplined an healthy life besides acting as a strong medium to establish a balance between nature and life.
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for popularizing Yoga across the world, Swami Ramdev informed that with the help of Patanjli Yoga Committees, Yoga was performed at 75 historic , cultural and iconic places of the country besides 5000 tehsils of 500 districts across India.
As per the scheduled programme and common Yoga protocol, Yoga session began with prayers following which different Yoga Asanas, including Anulom Vilom etc were performed.
Thereafter, Swami Ramdev administered pledge to the disciples and participants to include Yoga in their lifestyle. The Yoga session concluded with Shantipaath.
During the programme, students of Patanjli gurukul displayed various Asanas and exercises of wrestling, boxing, etc. On the occasion, Integrated Therapy of the Patanjli Wellness Centre was also aired live. Thousands of Yoga students from Patanjli Yog Samiti Dehradoon, Kotdwar, Haridwar and Rurki took part in the programme. Besides these, patients undergoing treatment at Patanjli Wellness Centre, students as well as employees of Patanjli University and Patanjli Gurukul also participated in the programme.
Meanwhile, participating in the programme at Red fort, Acharya Balkrishan said Yoga has helped lakhs of people to become healthy. Chairman of CBSE Chairman N P Singh, Patanjli Yog Samiti incharge Sadhvi Acharya Devpriya, Bhai Rakesh, Swami Videh Dev, Seema Johar and others also took part in this programme.
