JAMMU, Apr 2: To make people aware of other pilgrimage places enroute Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, a Charri Mubarak Yatra was taken out from Kol Kandoli temple in Nagrota.
Former Advisor to Governor, Parvez Dewan, flagged off the Charri Mubarak Yatra, which will pass through different historical places of the old traditional route of Maa Vaishnodevi ji, including Jagdamba temple, Kher Bhawani, Pangali Temple, Old Shiv Temple, Shiba, Shiv Parvati temple Marh, Kali Mata Temple Gondla and old historical Ram Darbar Bamyal before culminating at Oli Mata Temple.
President Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra, Rakesh Wazir, Charri Mubarak Yatra Committee members Kuldeep Luthra, Kartar Chand and Master Jagdish Raj, Vijay Kumar, Subhash Chander, Hans Raj and others were also present on the occasion of flagging off.
Dewan, while speaking on the occasion, said that the main object of this Charri Yatra is to make people aware of the rich heritage of J&K State. He further said that with the construction of a bridge at Oli temple between Bamyal and Deva Mai Katra and upgradation of the Deva Mai Katra-Nagrota and Deva Mai Katra-Akhnoor road via Mathwar/Agoor roads, the distance between Katra and Akhnoor will reduce by 45 KM and old historical places like Ambaran at Akhnoor,Mathwar, Howa Mata, Oli Mata Temple and old traditional route of Maa Vaishnodevi ji will come on the Tourism map thus encouraging more and more people to visit Jammu and its historical places while going back to their places.
He further said that the need of the hour is to increase the stay of yatries coming to Katra by diverting them to other places of tourist interest in the State vis-a-vis increasing their number.
Rakesh Wazir, while speaking on the occasion, appealed the authorities to expedite the works on Nagrota-Deva Mai old route and Deva Mai- Akhnoor route through Mathwar-Agoor so that all these areas may come on Tourism map. He also asked the organizers of this Charri Mubarak Yatra to make it a regular event.
The prominent among those present on the occasion, include Ashok Kumar, Randeep Singh, Uttam Singh, Krishan Chand, Master Purshottam, Veena Devi, Tripta Sharma and others.
