Parrikar passes away leaving a legacy

Manohar Parrikar , Chief Minister of Goa and Ex- Union Defence Minister passed away losing the battle with pancreatic cancer . A technocrat turned politician lived a life of simplicity , honesty , hard work and rejected ab-initio VVIP culture. He shall be remembered as a saint of politics who believed in ‘karma’ and kept on working even when he was suffering from the dreaded disease and stuck to this principle up to the last breath he breathed at his residence on March 17.
He was cremated with full State honours on March 18 in Panaji Goa. Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah President BJP, many Chief Ministers and political leaders attended the funeral . Thousands of people joined the funeral procession to bid farewell with tears to Parrikar who was a down to earth man known for his qualities rarely found in most of the people especially politicians of the day . He preferred to live in his private house and would carry his luggage himself and stand in ordinary queue for boarding planes where he preferred economy class to travel in. With pipe in nose and with falling health , he refused to take rest and was seen in Vidhan Sabha as well as in his office working in that condition. Four time Chief Minister, Parrikar was one of the most loved Chief Ministers Goa ever had.
