Paramedical institutes

A seminar on the topic ‘Opportunities, Challenges and Role of Paramedical Colleges in Health Sector’ by the Association of Paramedical Institutes, was recently organized in Jammu and attended by senior officers of the Health Department. The atmosphere wore optimistic view of considerable improvement of Paramedical institutes in the State, which is likely to boost the efficiency and delivery of health care to the masses of people. Addressing the gathering, the Minister for Health, Choudhary Lal Singh assured the paramedical students that the exams under General Nursing, Ophthalmic Assistant, Female Multipurpose Workers, Male Multipurpose Workers, Lab Technician, X-Ray Technicians, GNM, Dental Assistant and Pharmacist (Medical Assistant), Sanitary Inspector and Operation Theatre Technicians would be conducted on time at par with Board of School Education on regular basis. The decision would be helpful in streamlining the courses in paramedical institutions and would also in raising fresh graduates, which are of paramount importance for the health sector. The Government should also provide better infrastructure and teaching faculty in the training schools including Nursing Colleges.
The role of paramedical section of medical employees is of crucial importance in a country like ours. We want improved and modernized training institutes to come up so that more and more of our young and promising youth are able to enroll themselves for learning the tricks of the trade and thus earn a living without becoming a burden on society. With much advancement in medical science, relative advancement in paramedical services is also called for and our paramedical services have to be compatible.
