JAMMU, June 10: Harpreet Singh, Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and Ranjit Singh Jathedar Takhat Shri Harmandar Ji Patna Sahib awarded Panth Bhushan title to Jagjit Singh Dardi, veteran journalist, Padam Shri awardee and Chairman Chardikala Media Group at an impressive function especially organised by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee at Speaker Hall, Constitution Club of India.
Mohit Jain, President Indian Newspaper Society (INS) mentioned the role of Sardar Dardi for the welfare of Newspaper Industry as he is member of the Executive Committee of INS since 1988.
Harmeet Singh Kalka, President DSGMC appreciated the sacrifices and services Dardi has rendered during last sixty years for the betterment of the Sikhs, Punjabis, the State of Punjab, Punjabi language around the globe.
Vikram Jeet Singh Sahni, designated Member of Rajya Sabha said that Dardi started sacrificing from age of 12 years for the creation of present Punjabi speaking State and is still working through his media both print and electronic to serve the Indian Community worldwide.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Former President DSGMC and Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman Minority Commission of India also expressed their views on the occasion.
A large number of dignitaries from all sections of Society were present in this impressive function.
Tarlochan Singh, former MP, Dr Jaspal Singh, former Vice Chancellor and present Member of the Minority Education Commission, HPS Walia, Professor of Journalism, Sikh Saint Bhai Sahab Bhai Charanjit Singh Ji Lal, Ranjit Singh Head Priest Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Pritpal Singh Pannu, President National Integrated Forum of Artists, Professor Harmeet Singh, President All India Sikh Forum, Dr Prabhleen Singh, President Young Progressive Sikh Forum and Mandeep Singh Chadha, President World Sikh Chamber of Commerce, Jaswant Singh Bobby, President Punjabi Promotion Council were also present.
