Panel to examine agreement on J&K assets with President

JAMMU, May 27: To resolve the dispute over non-release of rent in respect of 224 kanal of land, occupied by the Army in village Chatha, the State Government has constituted a high-level committee to examine records of the agreement between President of India and State of Jammu Kashmir regarding assets of J&K.
The five-member committee will be headed by Chief Secretary as the Chairperson and comprised of two Divisional Commissioner, Secretary Revenue and Principal Director Defence Estate, J&K as the members.
The committee will examine records of the agreement dated 10-01-1956 and submit its report to the Government within a period of 15 days.
