SRINAGAR, June 28: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Youth Wing national vice president, Er Aijaz Hussain today said that Pakistan is using drugs as a new weapon to radicalize youth in the Kashmir valley.
This statement comes days after Jammu and Kashmir police busted a module which was associated with drugs worth Rs 65 crore.
“Drugs are taking more life in Kashmir and has become a new weapon for Pakistan against our youth,” Hussain who is also BJP in-charge in West Bengal said in a statement. “Jammu and Kashmir police busted narco-terrorism on many occasions and recent arrest of terrorists with Rs 65 crore drugs is alarming. It should be an eye opener for all of us”, he added.
Pakistan has been keeping Kashmir burning for nearly three decades through her designs, either sending insurgents through Line of Control or by misleading the world community about it. Though this has been responded by the security forces with all its might, now drugs seem to be her another plot to dissuade youth.
He urged the Government to take steps to defeat it and demanded formation of stringent drug laws and real time action against the criminals. “The laws for drug peddlers should be made stringent which is the first step towards it’s defeat, ” he said.
“And those involved should be booked under relevant laws which are in vogue in Jammu and Kashmir. This can prevent our generations from getting ruined. It would be defeat to Pakistan’s narco terrorism attempts in Kashmir because the money it generates is used for running terrorist activities, ” he added.
