Pak violates ceasefire

JAMMU, Dec 10: Pakistan army today again violated ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) at Shahpur Kirni sub sector in Poonch district. The Indian side retaliated effectively.
Reports said that Pakistani troops opened firing with automatic and semi-automatic weapons and also fired few mortar shells targeting forward Army posts and civilian locations at Shahpur Kirni sub sector in Poonch district at 7.30 pm today.
“The Indian side retaliated immediately to silence the Pakistani guns,” reports said adding that heavy exchanges between the two sides continued for about an hour after which intensity of the firing came down.
However, there were no casualties or damages on the Indian side in ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops.
During past few days, Pakistani troops had been regularly violating ceasefire at different places in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
Meanwhile, confirmed reports said that an Army JCO was injured in Pakistani firing in Nowshera sector last night. He was reportedly hit by a sniper shot fired by Pakistani troops, leading to injuries.
He has been hospitalised.
