JAMMU, Feb 13: Pakistan army this evening violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district, targeting forward Indian posts with small and automatic weapons and mortars.
Official sources said Pakistan army started indiscriminate firing on forward Indian posts at 6.05 pm in Sunderbani sector initially using small and automatic arms and later resorting to mortar shelling.
“The Indian side effectively retaliated, leading to heavy exchanges that continued for some time,” sources said, adding that there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side in Pakistan shelling and firing.
Casualties or damages, if any, on the other side were not known.
During past few days, Pakistan army and Rangers have repeatedly been violating ceasefire on LoC as well as International Border, which were reportedly aimed at facilitating infiltration by the militants, sources said.
