Addressing the meeting of party Vistarks on the second day here today and later in an informal chat with some mediapersons, Chug said that by continuing to send terrorists in J&K Pakistan was playing with fire and it will have to face serious consequences for the same.
Chug said the killing of two terrorists in Pulwama today indicated that Pakistan-sponsored terrorism was still around in J&K for which, Pakistan would have to pay a heavy price as country is not going to tolerate such mischief any more now.
Chug complimented security forces for keeping terrorists on the run in the Kashmir valley adding that the killing of 87 terrorists since January last was an indication that the security forces have tightened the noose sending a stern warning to Pakistan.
The BJP national general secretary said people of J&K have become sick of terrorism now and they wanted development works in a big way to come about. “The people want tourism, not terrorism”, he added.
“J&K has turned a new leaf in which there is no scope for violence and anti-national activities which the ‘Gupkar gang’ had been propagating for the last seven decades. People want schools, roads and hospitals besides employment opportunities for the youth. They do not want guns and bullets. All these years the Gupkar gang had been misleading the J&K people at the instance of Pakistan and China forces. The time has changed now and a fresh wind is blowing in the region”, he said.
Totally rejecting the suggestion of PDP and NC leaders of holding talks with Pakistan, Chug said the leaders who make such suggestions are on mercy of neighbouring country.
He said PDP chief, Mehbooba Mufti who wants to foster the dynastic politics in J&K does not want the progress of people and development of UT. “The dynastic parties infringed the rights of three generations of the people of J&K and looted the resources of the State but this will not be allowed any more”, he added.
He, while lambasting Mehbooba Mufti said she was day dreaming but will never succeed in her designs.
Maintaining that BJP is for strong India, he said with abrogation of Article 370 in J&K the party wanted that the women, deprived people of the UT, refugees and Gujjars and Bakerwals should progress along with other sections of the people and they should get their due. During last two years, J&K marched on a new path of progress and development and credit for this goes to BJP and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, he added.
Chug said there was a sea change in the UT with people openly in large numbers participated in Panchayat, local bodies and DDC elections which was not witnessed in past. About 11 lakh people cast their vote in these elections while earlier 500 people were turning up for casting their vote, he added.
Terming this a big victory of Narendra Modi’s ideology, he said the parties and people who were talking of China and Pakistan were defeated and there are no takers for their commodities in J&K now.
The BJP leader said that entire J&K including its portion which is under forcible occupation of Pakistan belongs to India and nation is committed to get it back. In this regard, he referred to joint Parliament resolution of 1994. He said Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder president and our mentor, Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee had laid down his life on this soil and nation can’t make any compromise over an inch of its land.
Chug accused Pakistan of forcibly occupying a portion of J&K even against the will of the people of that region by usurping their rights and the national commitment is to retrieve that land from illegal occupation of neighbouring country.
Chug said BJP will take the J&K on the path of development and progress. “We want to make the UT a hub of industrialisation and Kashmir a world famous tourist resort,. We want to construct roads, power projects, schools, hospitals etc,” he added.
Chug also made a scathing attack on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and its vice president, Rahul Gandhi for siding with the supporters of China and with those who championed the cause of terrorists.
He said Sonia Gandhi opposed the anti terror law in Parliament and staged walkout while Rahul Gandhi aligned with the supporters of Afzal Guru and also took a selfie with Kanaihya Kumar of ‘Tukday Tukday gang’.
JKUT BJP president, Ravinder Raina while addressing the meet said that BJP’s target in J&K is “Mission 50 Plus” in the forthcoming Assembly elections and party will form the Government in the UT on its own.
He asked the Party Vistarks to work with utmost dedication and devotion for victory of BJP candidates up to forthcoming poll by taking the message of party to every nook and corner of the UT. He asked them to acquaint themselves with the welfare schemes and other public welfare projects initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He asked them to visit every village and Mohalla in their respective regions and apprise the people of the achievements of the Government and steps taken for welfare and benefit of the people.
State Organizational general secretary BJP, Ashok Kaul, Seh-Prabhari Ashish Sood, vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi, UT general secretary Dr. Davinder Manyal and Pawan Kumar were among other senior leaders present on the occasion.
