JAMMU, Jan 12: Pakistani Rangers tonight again violated ceasefire and opened firing with small arms at Suchetgarh Kullian in Samba sector prompting retaliation from the BSF.
Official reports said the Pakistani Rangers started small arms firing at 9.55 pm at Suchetgarh Kullian in Samba sector. The BSF retaliated. Exchange of firing continued for more than one and half hours.
“It was small arms firing from both sides. There was no report of any casualty or damage on the Indian side,’’ the reports said.
A large number of border people continued to stay in relief camps in Hiranagar and Samba sectors after deserting their houses due to continued shelling and firing from the Pakistan side.
Last night, Pakistan had fired few mortar shells and bursts at Karol Krishna and Londi in Hiranagar sector.
Meanwhile, six mines exploded at Garanga forest area of Sabjian in Poonch sector today due to forest fire.
