JAMMU, Apr 29: In a direct attack on Pakistan, Army today said the neighbour doesn’t want formation of Government in Jammu and Kashmir and establishment of peace post abolition of Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
It also charged Pakistan with hatching conspiracies to mislead youth of Jammu and Kashmir by giving them training in terror camps and changing their thinking through false propaganda.
A hard-hitting statement by Army came nine days after five bravehearts sacrificed their lives and another was injured in an ambush laid by two to three Pakistani militants at Bhatta Durrian in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.
Most of security and Intelligence officers have held Pakistan responsible for Bhatta Durrian terror attack saying the Pakistani militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) executed the attack with the help of weapons and explosives dropped through drones from across the Line of Control (LoC). Six locals have so far been arrested for facilitating the terror attack.
“After abolition of Article 370, Pakistan doesn’t want establishment of peace and Government in Jammu and Kashmir. That’s why, Pakistan always keeps on creating various conspiracies to mislead the youth of this region by giving training in terrorist camps and changing their thinking through wrong propagandas,” an official statement issued by the Defence spokesman here today, said, adding the neighbour is also forcing youth on wrong path by intimidation like drug addiction, caste and religion etc.
“The Central Government is constantly trying to bring peace and harmony in this region by working on the progress and development like construction of highways, tunnels, life-making bridges which made life easy for the people of this region. The Government has established 5G network for better communication which will help people in education sector and speed up technology of the region,” the statement said, adding “the Central Government and the Army have been working together for the development of the area and people of this region so that they could be the part of mainstream of the country.”
The statement said Pakistan never wants the young generation to move ahead after being educated and make their life happy and bring prosperity in their life. “Therefore, Pakistan does not want a Government to be established in J&K.”
Asserting that Pakistan is trying to attract poor and working people in terror activities by luring money in wrong way, the statement, however, said the Government and Army are continuously providing security and development which will give positive attitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the statement added, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have understood mentality of Pakistan and opposed terror attacks.
“Pakistan never wants that there should be an atmosphere of peace or harmony in the Union Territory and always tries to spread unrest, disharmony and communal disturbances by supplying drugs and intoxicants to the youths and changing their mindset. This sort of thinking hinders the progress and development of young generation who are bright future of the UT as well as the country,” the Army said.
It asked people to stay away from terror activities and immediately report any suspicious movement to the security forces for the larger interest of peace in the region.
“Central Government and the Army have been working together for the development of the area and people of this region so that they could be part of the mainstream of the country. Keeping this in mind, people of all the communities should walk shoulder to shoulder with the army,” the statement said.
Referring to the terror attack on the Army vehicle in Poonch on April 20, the statement said a few names of some community came to the fore, which is “unbelievable”.
“Hence, the people of this area should keep away from such type of incident and activities in future. If someone is roaming suspected in the region, then the people of this area should immediately inform and assist the army and foil the major incident like Poonch,” the army said, adding “It is the responsibility of we all to be alert and cautious in future so that we can save the life of our Army soldiers and citizens of this region and bring peace and tranquility.”
“The Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir has always witnessed heroic and historical events and battles fought by them in 1948, 1962, 1971 and 1999. Whenever, anyone has tried to spread unrest in this area, then the people have fought shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army irrespective of their caste, creed, gender and religion,” the Army said.
It said all communities of Poonch region showed their anger on the Poonch attack and also protested by taking candle light vigils.
“The people of J&K should understand the heinous and nefarious act of Pakistan and protest such activities on a large scale. They should try to motivate their children and families and keep them updated with the old history of this region,” the statement said.
