Pak discourages LeT for its potential of becoming ISIS

SRINAGAR, Aug 29: As Pakistan is worried about the presence of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in the country, the Pak army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) is trying to discourage Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in its soil including sending them to Kashmir as the later has the potential of coming close to the ISIS for having a common ideology.
Sources said that Pakistan army and ISI are much worried about the significant presence of the ISIS in the country after Governor of Baluchistan province sent an SOS to the top police and army officers last year about its “significant presence” in the country.
Pakistan army and ISI, even doesn’t want LeT presence in Kashmir as well and of late are backing Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen and Al-Badr Mujahideen. “However, they say that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is close to LeT as they helped him in winning the last year’s election in Pakistan”, sources said.
Pakistan’s decision to back JeM instead of LeT was taken last year in December as they thought that the LeT has the same ideology as ISIS and former can prove to be dangerous for the country.
The captured LeT militant Sajjad alias Abu Ubaidullah has also made this disclosure to the security agencies today that ISI often raids the LeT camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. “He, however, disclosed that the LeT gets prior information about the raid and all the weapons and other training related material is concealed with in no time. The camp then looks a normal charity camp”, sources said.
Sajjad even revealed that the Pakistani troops also arrest the LeT militants near the LoC in PoK when they are detected. “The cadres are arrested and sent to Macchis Factory camp at Muzaffarabad. However, LeT manages the release of its men”, he reportedly told his interrogators today. He also revealed that since there are not much army or Rangers posts along the LoC in PoK, LeT men easily get through the gapes that are there in the rugged terrain.
Sources, however, said that LeT can manage its activities without Pakistan army and ISI support as it has huge resources and men power besides enjoying a lot of goodwill in the country due to the charity work of Markaz-e-Dawa, the charity organization, headed by Hafiz Sayeed.
Sources said that LeT has over three lakh trained men in Pakistan who are ready to wage Jihad. This is a worrying trend and Pakistan establishment feels if LeT can join hands with ISIS it can run over the country as it did in Syria and Iraq.
