JAMMU, May 10: Pahal-a Non Government Organization, organized a voluntary blood donation camp today at SMGS Hospital (Jammu), with the aim of maintaining a stable blood supply for young patients who need regular transfusions to live healthy lives.
The camp was inaugurated by chief guest Devyani Rana (MLA). The event was also attended by Principal GMC Jammu Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Medical Superintendent of SMGS Hospital Dr Dara Singh, HoD Blood Bank Dr Meena Sidhu and HoD Paediatrics Dr Sanjeev K Digra.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Falak Gupta, founder of Pahal, highlighted the organization’s continued commitment to social welfare. The camp received an overwhelming public response, with volunteers donating blood throughout the day.
A total of 60 people donated blood, including notable participation by women donors, with eight young women leading by example, four donors above 60 years of age, and three doctors.
The collected blood units will be dedicated to the Thalassemia Unit at SMGS Hospital, providing vital support to paediatric patients. The event was dedicated to thalassemic warriors Dapinder Singh, Faheem, Charan Singh and Tarun Gupta.
