Inter-state theft syndicate busted at Gangyal; stolen property worth Rs 6 lakh recovered

JAMMU, May 10: Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state theft gang with the arrest of three accused and recovery of stolen property worth around Rs 6 lakh during investigation of a theft case registered at Police Station Gangyal.
A police official said a case under FIR No. 131/2025 was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation was taken up using CCTV footage, technical surveillance and other inputs.
During investigation, he said police traced the accused and conducted raids in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.
The arrested accused were identified as Lakhan Singh of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Deep Singh of Udaipur in Rajasthan and Randeep Singh of Udaipur, Rajasthan.
On their disclosure, the police official said the stolen property linked to the case worth around Rs 6 lakh was recovered.
He said police have also invoked section 112 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita dealing with organised crime in view of the inter-state network involved in the case.
Meanwhile, further investigation is going on in the case as more arrests and recoveries are likely.
