JAMMU, Nov 19: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) in its executive meeting held under the chairmanship of its president K K Khosa said the package announced by Union Minister of State, in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh after the Union Cabinet decision for Kashmiri displaced people will act as a Confidence Building Measure (CBM).
Mr Khosa while recalling the fate of earlier packages announced by Dr Manmohan Singh former Prime Minister wanted Centre to nominate a monitoring agency for the implementation of the whole package. There is absolute need of some monitoring mechanism to monitor the time bound programme at ground level.
He said the community has not got the desired benefit of the earlier package due to lack of such system. The 6000 flats for employees have been very old demand for last six years and the employees who joined in Valley have suffered a lot due to lack of proper accommodation.
Khosa demanded that the construction of flats should be on fast track and also the recruitment process of new 3000 employees be expedited with the selection process completed at Jammu for the facility of the displaced youth.
He said the community should have access to monitoring agency so that its views are also taken care of while addressing various issues to their satisfaction.
