Package employees protest, demand accommodation

KULGAM, Oct 18.Rented PM Package employees of district Kulgam -Anantnag appointed in 2010-11 protested in front of DC office Kulgam and submitted a memorandum regarding their early allotment in Newly constructed quarters in Transit camp Vessu.
These employees sought the immediate intervention of LG, Manoj Sinha and Shailendra Kumar, Commissioner Secretary, PWD and Secretary, DMRRR for completion of construction of remaining quarters in stipulated time.
The president of Rental Association again appealed to Government and executing agencies to complete construction as soon as possible as he is flooded with applications of PMP employees living in rented accommodations.
They requested DC to convey their grievances to LG administration, Chief Secretary, Secretary DMRRR and Relief Commissioner (M).
The plight of employees appointed under special PM Package in the Year 2010-11 and since then (2010) No accommodation has been provided to them and they were forced to live on rent at various places in Qazigund, Anantnag, Kulgam.Matan and other areas of South Kashmir. They alleged that they have been paying huge rent and the Class IV employees among them have limited resources and were living miserable lives. Their families especially old aged parents have also suffered. They have been confined within one room.
They said due to that step motherly treatment with Rental PM Package employees, They faced numerous problems in rented accommodations and COVID has further made matter worse.
They hoped that injustice meted to them from past 10 years may come to an end . They said that quarters be allotted as per Government circular of 2018.
