Over 900 perform darshan

JAMMU, Aug 12: Over 900 pilgrims performed darshan in holy cave of Swami Amarnath today while yatra to holy cave from Jammu remained suspended for the fourth consecutive day.
According to an official spokesman, 990 pilgrims performed darshan in holy cave of Swami Amarnath situated at an altitude of 14,000 feet in Lidder Valley of South Kashmir district of Anantnag today.
However no yatri from Jammu reached to Baltal and Pahalgam base camps as yatra from Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu base camp remained suspended for the forth day today due to 72 hour bandh call given by various organizations followed by imposition of curfew in various parts of Jammu region.
With the darshan of 990 pilgrims today the total pilgrims paying obeisance at holy cave since the yatra started on June 28 has touched 3,50,990.
Till yesterday evening 3.5 lakh pilgrims had performed darshan in holy cave.
The holy mace of Lord Shiva will leave for Pahalgam from Dashnami Akhara on August 16. Led by custodian of the Chhari Mubarak Mahant Deepender Giri Ji Maharaj the holy mace will perform Darshan in cave shrine on August 21 on Sawan Purnima coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.
Meanwhile 91 pilgrims left for darshan from Nunwan -Pahalgam for holy cave via traditional Chandanwari track.
