RAMBAN, Apr 7: Amid strict lockdown restrictions and non availability of public transport on Jammu Srinagar National Highway, over two dozen labourers from Chanjloo and other adjoining villages of Banihal tehsil who were permitted by the authorities to start their journey on foot from Billawar to reach their native places reached here today afternoon.
The labourers said due to strict restrictions on travelling from one place to other place and non availability of public transport, they walked on foot for around 220 kilometers to reach their native places in Banihal tehsil.
They said they had started their journey four days back after the authorities permitted them to move towards their native places.
They said they were asked by the authorities to maintain distance while walking on the road.
They are hopeful that they will reach their native places by tomorrow evening.
It is pertained to mention here the Government had imposed lockdown restriction to contain spreading of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
