Lays foundation stone of works worth Rs 771 Cr

JAMMU, Aug 4: Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, launched an organ donation campaign, urging society to bridge the gap between organ demand and supply.
Addressing the launch event, Gehlot stressed the significance of organ donation and the need to create a positive atmosphere for it.
The campaign aimed to encourage public willingness for organ donation and promote the Chiranjeevi Scheme, which offers free organ transplants. He called organ donation a noble act and asked people to volunteer the campaign for organ donation.
Gehlot informed that under the Chiranjeevi Scheme, costly treatments like organ transplants were now completely free. He extended the scheme to cover families with incomes below 8 lakhs across all social classes, with the state government shouldering the premium expenses.
During the launch, Gehlot inaugurated 249 works and projects, including ambulances and mobile food testing labs. These projects are estimated to be completed at the cost of Rs 771 crores.
He emphasized the State’s commitment to healthcare, highlighting the establishment of new hospitals, medical colleges, and healthcare centers. He proudly mentioned that Rajasthan was the first state in India to approve medical colleges in all districts.
The event showcased dialogues with families of organ donors and recipients who had benefited from the Chiranjeevi Scheme. Their stories emphasized the importance of affordable medical treatment and the positive impact of the scheme.
Gehlot also felicitated the families of organ donors and medical professionals, acknowledging their vital contributions. A short film also exhibited Rajasthan’s achievements in the healthcare.
Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena shared that the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme covered 88% of families in the State, with the Government funding premiums for 1.38 crore families.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Shubhra Singh, commended the State’s enhanced healthcare infrastructure, aligning with the vision of a healthy Rajasthan.
