Jammu, Dec 10: Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College and Hospital (IGGDC&H) concluded Oral Cancer Awareness Week from today and distributed prizes and certificates among participants.
The Oral Cancer Awareness Week started from December 4 and during the week several patients were educated. A painting competition was held and teachers, students including Medical Superintendent of the hospital participated in the competition. Also a debate competition was held and the judges appointed for the competition included HoD of Oral and Mazillofacial Surgery Dr Parveen Akhter Lone, HoD of Oral Pathology Dr Rubeena Anjum and HoD of Conservative Dentistry Dr Azhar Malik.
On conclusion day of Oral Cancer Awareness Week, lectures on Oral Cancer were delivered by Dr. Parveen and others.
HoD of Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Dr. Satvinder Singh expressed his gratitude to the administration of the IGGDC&H, students and faculty who made this week valuable and helped to spread awareness among the common people about the Oral Cancer.
The winners and participants of painting and debate competitions were given trophies and certificates by the Principal of the College Dr Romesh Singh. The winners of painting completion were Surinder (3rd year), Dr Anu Gandral and Dr Neha Suryavanshi got first prize, Dr Ritesh Gupta, Monkia and Dr Tawaz bagged 2nd prize, Dr Bhawan Koul got 3rd prize and four prize gone to Dr Suneeta Puri.
The winners of debate were 1st prize bagged by Kanika and Tahir, Preneka and Rudra got 2nd prize and Ameet Kour got 3rd prize.
