KOLKATA, May 3 : Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said here today that a desperate opposition is manufacturing false narratives in anticipation of the election debacle, which it is seeing as the writing on the wall.
Addressing a series of BJP election meetings in Bongaon and Barackpore Lok Sabha constituencies here today, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, the opposition, notwithstanding its claim of coming together on a single platform as INDIA Block or whatever, has exposed itself before the people of this country as a ‘House of Cards’, which is falling apart under the weight of its own contradictions.
He said, as far as the Congress is concerned, it is at a loss to find candidates to fight against BJP and this phenomena has been noted across the country. While in Amethi, it made a laughing stock of itself, in several other constituencies across North India also, the Congress had to reconcile by putting up candidates who had been rejected by all the other political parties, he added.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said, in this conglomeration of INDIA Block, while nobody is ready to accept each other as the leader, it is a hilarious situation in West Bengal where Mamata Banerjee is also aspiring to be the future head of INDIA Block and thus the claimant for the position of Prime Minister. It is all the more amusing to note, he said, that West Bengal in total holds the key to 42 seats in Lok Sabha out of which in 2019, Mamata Banerjee led TMC had won 22 against 18 seats won by the BJP and there is every indication that BJP tally will increase this time, which, in other words could dampen Mamata’s dream of claiming to be the leader of the INDIA Block.
While the BJP is in the election fray as an Organisational Unit, said Dr. Jitendra Singh, the opposition parties like Congress and TMC are fighting an un-stratigised election in the hope of carrying the day on the strength of individual or family charisma, which the people of this country have long outgrown, he said.
Exuding confidence that the BJP led by Modi will not only improve its tally across the country, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, even in a State like West Bengal, people will ensure defeat of TMC and send out a loud message that the State is a part of Modi-led mainstream India.
