JAMMU, June 26: Acting swiftly on a complaint against a chemist shop, Drug wing of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) today disallowed operation of the shop for three days.
Rajan Gandhi, a customer yesterday purchased certain veterinary medicines from Kapoor Chemists, Jewel Chowk (Jammu). He had requirement of medicines for 5 days dose but he was forced by the shopkeeper to buy whole strips of three separate medicines, thereby putting extra financial burden on him and causing wastage of medicines which are of no use above prescribed dose.
Gandhi submitted a complaint against the chemist shop with Assistant Drug Controller, Jammu, Mohd Iqbal Pala, who acting promptly, raided the premises of Kapoor Chemists along with a team of drug inspectors.
On ground verification, the team of Drug officials found the complaint as true and therefore disallowed operation of the chemist shop for three days.
Assistant Drug Controller Jammu, Mohd Iqbal Pala warned the chemists not to indulge in any type of malpractice and follow all rules and regulations of Drug Department. He said that any sort of violation or unethical practice will be punished strictly.
