JAMMU, Apr 14: Government has decided to impose restrictions on OPD services in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and its Associated Hospitals from April 17 (Saturday) with only 50 appointments per day per speciality.
An order in this connection was issued today by Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal & Dean, GMC Jammu. According to the order, the OPD services will be open on all working days from 10 am to 2 pm only and the total number of appointments per speciality per day shall not exceed more than 50 initially.
The appointments will be given by the respective department staff nominated by the concerned HoD through a dedicated Mobile Phone Number already provided to each department. For getting appointment, people can contact the concerned staff at dedicated Mobile Phone Numbers which will be operational from 10 am to 4 pm on all working days.
As per the order, the patients who will get the appointment shall present before the Registration Counter (10 am to 12 noon) with a valid Identity Card. The patients should attend the OPD by prior appointment only, failing which they may not be liable to be examined by the doctors in OPDs.
“Each patient will be accompanied by not more than one attendant,” the order said, adding, at all costs COVID appropriate behavior shall be observed by everyone in all departments/sections of the Hospital including Registration and OPD areas.
The order further stated that the routine surgeries will not be undertaken in GMC & Associated Hospitals, Jammu with effect from April 19 onwards and only emergency/cancer surgeries will be conducted.
