Only Cong can ensure development of country: JKPCC Chief

JAMMU, Apr 4: Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz on Friday described the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s prime-ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi as a communal person and said that the latter can’t make India every-body’s country.
Addressing a largely attended public meeting here at Gujjar Nagar in Jammu East constituency today, Prof. Soz alleged that there are people in BJP who actually want to divide the society and the country on the basis of region and religion.
“Modi is a communal person, due to whom today there is no mention of BJP but of him (Modi) and he is one, because of whom a bitter fight has ensued within the party and its senior leaders like L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Sushma Swaraj are feeling suffocated in the party today,” he maintained.
Calling upon the people to only vote for Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance candidate, Madan Lal Sharma in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which would be held on April 10, 2014, the JKPCC chief said that Congress is a secular party and vote to the Congress candidate means your support to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh, who want to see development and progress all around in the country.
Earlier speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Revenue, Ajaz Ahmed Khan called upon people of all faiths and communities to fight against communal forces.
Taking a dig at BJP’s PM candidate, Narendra Modi, Ajaz Khan lamented that one person can’t bring revolution in the country and added further that BJP has no manifesto till date whereas elections are around the corner.
In his address, Vikram Malhotra, General Secretary, J&K PCC, said that the ensuing elections are a fight between two different ideologies.
He also urged the people to vote for Congress-NC candidate, Madan Lal Sharma and make him a big success in the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohd Hussain Malik, president, Gujjar Nagar Welfare Committee and Showkat Khokar (Tinu), made a strong pitch for giving ticket to Vikram Malhotra, General Secretary, J&K PCC for contesting from Jammu East constituency in the upcoming Assembly elections.
