One killed, three injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, July 13: A man was killed while three others were injured in two separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as Ravinder Sharma (32) son of Nilesh Parkash Sharma, resident of Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, was killed on the spot this morning when a scooty he was riding, was hit by a rashly driven truck bearing registration number JK02AB-1065 at Kaluchak.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where after completing all medico-legal formalities it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
“A case in this connection has been registered and investigations started”, he said, adding, both the vehicles involved in the mishap were seized and truck driver namely Inderjeet Singh son of Partap Singh, resident of Bhor Camp, arrested.
Two teen-aged boys sustained injuries in a road mishap in Rehari area. The boys were travelling on a bike when a speedy car hit their two-wheeler. The injured boys identified as Raghav Singh (17) son of Suresh Singh and Shubham Singh (16) son of Mohan Singh, both residents of Sunderbani, were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
A young girl identified as Afsa Bhat (18) daughter of Muneer Bhat, resident of Reasi, got injured when a bike on which he was travelling, was hit by a rashly driven car near Batra Hospital. She was shifted to Batra Hospital for treatment but later referred to GMCH Jammu. Bagh-e-Bahu police had taken cognizance of the matter.
