SAMBA, Jan 5: One person was killed, while five others were injured in road accidents.
As per reports, Joginder Kumar, son of Krishan Chand of village Karnah, Sumb was seriously injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
He was rushed to Government District Hospital Samba where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case has been registered at Samba Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, five members of a family were injured, when the car they were traveling was hit by a tipper near Vijaypur on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
A tipper bearing registration number JK02AW-3185 on its way from Jammu to Kathua hit a Duster car bearing registration number JK02BC-6645 from back side. The car was again hit by Haryana Roadways Bus bearing registration number HR66-7187 on his way from Pathankot to Jammu, resulting into injuries to five persons.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and stated rescue operation. All the injured were rushed to Vijaypur Emergency Hospital, from where they were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where their condition was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
The injured have been identified as Joginder Pal Verma (50), son of Sansar Chand, resident of Rajpura Magotrian Jammu, his wife Rani Verma (47), his daughter Shalini Verma (20) and his two sons Shubham (18) and Sidharath (16).
A case has been registered at Vijaypur police Station and Investigation started.
