KATHUA, Nov 22: One youth was killed while another was seriously injured after the swift car they were traveling hit a divider at Khrote Morh on Jammu- Pathankot National Highway early this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Hamzan Khan , son of Mohammed Sharif of village Sumwan in Nagri Parole at present Pacca Kotha, Kathua. Police said car bearing registration number JK08D 4397 was on way from Kathua to Lakhanpur. On reaching Khrote Morh, the rashly driven Car hit the divider of the Highway resulting into the serious injuries to driver and his accomplice.
The duo was rushed to District Hospital Kathua for treatment where Hamzan succumbed to his injuries. The seriously injured Ritik Sharma , Son of Parshotam Kumar of Ward 17 Kathua was shifted to Amandeep Hospital , Pathankot, Punjab after he was given the emergency treatment at Kathua. But his condition was also stated to be critical.
Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 279,337 and 304 and has also seized the car. The body of the deceased was handed over to family for last rites after postmortem at DH Kathua.
