One killed, 7 hurt in two road mishaps

UDHAMPUR, July 24: One person was killed and another injured when a car skidded into a gorge on Ramnagar-Majori road last night while at least six persons were injured in a collision between two vehicles at Rehmbal today.
A police spokesman said that one Sudesh Kumar (23), son of Bishan Dass, resident of Bari village in Ramnagar was killed on the spot while his relative Sudesh Kumar, son of Chuni Lal of Kalwanta village, injured when their car No. JK 14C/ 7666 skidded off the road near Shatreri. The vehicle was on way to Ramnagar from Kulwanta side when mishap took place at around 9.15 pm.
The locals of the area came to know about the mishap and reached at the site after long. The dead body of the deceased was removed to Ramnagar Hospital. The injured has also been hospitalized. The police has taken cognizance.
Meanwhile, six persons were injured when a Xylo passenger vehicle and mini-bus collided near Rehmbal today. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Udhampur Hospital. They are identified as Mohd Shafiq, son of Jamal Din of Gool, Abdul Ahmed, son of Abdullah of Dharamkund, his 12 year-old daughter Rahina Hameed and Shazia (15), Pritam Singh, son of Mangat Ram of Chakhar and Rekha, wife of Romesh Kumar resident of Dandyal in Udhampur.
