One killed, 6 hurt as Sumo falls in gorge

POONCH, Dec 24: One person was killed while six others injured  when a Tata Sumo vehicle met with an accident in Surankote area of district Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that a speeding Sumo vehicle went out of control and fell into a gorge near Gurdwara in Surankote area this afternoon. While one person was killed on the spot, six injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Surankote.
The Deceased was later  identified as 70-year-old Abdul Ghani, son of Bahadur Ali, resident of Dugrein in Surankote. The six injured persons admitted to local hospital at Surankote were identified as Mohd Showkat (35) and his wife, Parveen Akhtar (30), residents of Mendhar;  Nagina Kouser (24), wife of Khursheed, resident of Potha (Surankote); Sameen Qureshi (18), daughter of Hayat Qureshi; Masrat Begum, wife of Hayat Qureshi from Draba and Kabir Hussain (40), son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Jaranwali Gali.
Seriously injured, Sameen was further referred to GMC hospital Jammu by Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan, BMO Surankote who was himself supervising the treatment to the accident victims at the hospital.
