One killed, 5 injured in separate road accidents

KATHUA, Oct 4: One person was killed while five others were injured in two separate road accidents in Kathua and Samba districts today.
Police said one youth was killed while another was injured after an unknown vehicle hit the motorbike on which they were traveling on Jammu-Pathankote NH near Pali in Kathua district late tonight. The dead has been identified as Noor Ahmed while injured was identified as Amjad. The duo was the students of Kathua Polytechnic College which is functioning in a private building at Barnoti.
The Kathua police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law.
The injured has been shifted to GMC Jammu in a serious condition for treatment. The youth were from Poonch and they had taken admission in Polytechnic Kathua. The dead body will be handed over to family after postmortem tomorrow.
In another accident one youth identified as Ramesh Singh of Jakbarh Kathua was injured after he was hit by an unknown vehicle at Barnoti late to night. He has also been shifted to GMC in a serious condition for treatment. The Kathua police has registered a case under relevant sections of law.
Meanwhile three motorcyclists were injured after their bike bearing number JK02AR 2640 was hit by an unknown vehicle at Shah Balote Samba today.
They were identified as Surjit Kumar of Dullani, Rakesh Kumar S/o Tara Chand of Sarore and Parshant Kumar , S/o Deep Kumar. The trio were shifted to GMC in a serious condition for treatment. The Samba police has registered a case under the relevant sections of the law.
