DODA, June 18: One person was killed, while four others were injured in road accidents, here today.
As per police sources, an Eco car bearing registration number JK17-5115 was on its way to Thathri from Phagsoo, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into gorge at Kahila Morh, resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to one another.
On getting information, police team along with locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person identified as Abdul Latif, son of Mohammad Ramzan, a resident of Zagote to CHC Thathri, where he was undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
After completing legal formalities, the body of the deceased identified as Abid, a resident of Tatani Saroor has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured, when the Swift car bearing registration number JKO2BV-8399 they were traveling in from Kishtwar to Jammu plunged into 100 meters deep gorge at Kandote Nallah near Thathri on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar Highway.
The injured persons identified as Tariq Hussain (20), son of Ghulam Ali, a resident of Kuchall, at present Bun Astaan, District Kishtwar and Ahmed Zia (20), son of Ajaz Ahmed, a resident of District Kishtwar were shifted to Trauma Hospital Thathri, where they were responding to the treatment, when last reports poured in.
In one more accident, one person identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Om Prakash, a resident of Paryote was injured, when the Maruti car he was driving met with accident near Kheelani nallah.
The injured person has been shifted to District Hospital Doda for treatment.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at concerned police stations and investigation started.
