KATHUA, Aug 25: One person was killed and three others wounded when a van they were travelling in hit the divider and turned turtle at Jammu-Pathankot National Highway (NH) near here today.
The ill fated van bearing registration number PB06W-2613 was carrying devotees who were returning from Samba after attending a religious congregation there.
Police sources informed that the deceased Dalender Singh son of Pyar Singh resident of Gurdaspur got critically injured in the mishap and was shifted to district hospital Kathua where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
They further said that other three injured are undergoing treatment in district hospital Kathua and are stated to be out of danger.
The accident took place at Logate Bridge and the driver fled from the spot after the mishap.
Police has registered a case under sections 289, 337 and 304 of RPC and started investigations.
