One killed, 12 injured in road accidents

Srinagar, July 21: A person was killed and twelve others were injured in different road mishaps across the valley and Kargil, police said today.
A police spokesman said a tractor bearing registration number JK05A/5217 driven by Abdul Rehman Ganie turned turtle near Check Durhama at Kreeri area of Baramulla district, resulting in on spot death of the tractor driver. “After completing medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites,” the spokesman said, adding, police have registered a case in this regard.
In central Kashmir’s Budgam district, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04B/5994 skidded off the road near Police Station Chrar-e-Sharif, resulting in injuries to three persons, the police spokesman said. “All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment,” he said, adding, police have registered a case in this regard.
In another accident at Ganderbal district, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01G/8166 driven by Zahid Ahmad Dar hit and injured a girl Khushboo at Barinbugh in Kangan area . “The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the police said.
In Handwara area of Kupwara district, a vehicle bearing registration number JK09A/3359 turned turtle near Tutiligund, resulting in injuries to five persons, police said. “All the injured were shifted to District Hosptial Handwara for treatment,” he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
In south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK22/6816 driven by Farooq Ahmad Mir and a load carrier bearing registration number JK13A/6260 collided near Shadi Marg Rajpora, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist. “The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Pulwama police has registered a case in this regard,” the police said.
In mountainous district of Kargil, a truck bearing registration number JK01W/4801 and a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number PB92V/8300 collided near Shemsha Bridge at Thasgam, resulting in injuries to two persons, police said. “Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment,” the police said, adding, a case has been registered in this regard.
