RAMBAN, Mar 30: Police today arrested one drug peddler and recovered 16 kg of poppy straw from his possession.
During naka checking at Shan Palace, a joint team of SoG Ramban and police party of police station Ramban, intercepted one Tata Tiago car bearing registration number HP 83-8241 that was moving towards Himachal from Anantnag.
During the search of the vehicle, 16 kg of poppy straw was recovered from rear side of the vehicle. The contraband was seized and the driver of the vehicle identified as Mohinder Singh son of Ami Chand resident of Darang (Himachal) was arrested.
In this connection, a case FIR No 46/2021 u/s 8/15 NDPS has been registered in police station Ramban. Further, investigation of the case is going on.
