UDHAMPUR, Dec 16: Udhampur Police today seized one kg of poppy straw from a van and arrested driver of the vehicle.
A Police patrolling party, led by SHO Udhampur, Insp. Sanjeev Chib, intercepted a Maruti van during checking at Kambal Danga. The Maruti van, bearing registration number JK14-1618 was on way from Thathi towards Kambal Danga. During checking of the said vehicle, police found a polythene containing one kg poppy straw.
Police seized the recovered poppy straw and arrested driver of the vehicle, identified as Balwan Singh, son of Krishan Singh of Thathi.
In this connection, a case FIR No.206 /2017 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation of the case is going on.
