C-BYTE Jammu organizes Inter-Centre Athletic Championship

JAMMU, Dec 16: District Administration Jammu in collaboration with BSF Frontier HQ Plaoura Camp today organized C-BYTE Inter-Centre Athletic Meet at BSF Ground, Plaoura to felicitate 43 successful trainees who were selected in Army Rally Akhnoor. The Meet was started with flagging off 3000mtr event by chief organizer of the event, ACD Jammu M. Tasir Latiffi and S. Ranjit Singh Tara, BDO Marh, in presence of Surinder Kumar, C-BYTE Nodal facilitator.
All the boys from six centres participated in various track and field events like 100 m, 200m, 400m, 800m,1600m, 3000m, long jump and relay races.
The prize distribution function started with the welcome address by Surinder Kumar, C-BYTE Nodal facilitator.
DDC Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Chairman of C-BYTE centres was  the chief guest on the occasion, who lauded the efforts of the organizing team and BSF frontier Jammu  for organizing the event and assured full support from his side  for such noble initiatives.
The top three performers in each event were awarded with medals and other prizes. The Inter-Centre Academic Championship which is a regular feature of these centres was held earlier and was won by C-BYTE Centre Khour.
Among the various trophies to win Relay Race Trophies (400×4 100×4) and Overall Athletic Champion trophy was claimed by C-BYTE Centre Marh.
Sunil Choudhary, a Trainee of CBYTE Pargwal was adjudged Best Athlete of the Inter-Centre event with 3 Gold medals in 3000m, 1600m and 8000m.
DDC Jammu also presented memento to guest of honour, DC Sports-BSF, Ajit Singh. The function ended with formal vote of thanks by Nodal facilitator. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Romesh Kumar.
So far a total of 123 boys have been selected into various armed forces and more than 800 boys have been trained by the C-BYTE Centres.
