JAMMU, June 4: Jammu chapter of Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) organized a one-day training workshop for nursing professionals on “Issues in Nursing Practices” at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, DG Family Welfare J&K and Director Health Services Jammu (Executive Director, AHA Jammu chapter), in presence of Dr Yashpal Sharma, MD JKMSCL/Director Coordination New Medical Colleges Jammu (president, AHA India), Dr Jasbir Singh, ex-Director Health Services Jammu (president, AHA Jammu chapter) and Dr Ritu Gupta (Professor, Physiology GMC Jammu) who represented Principal & Dean GMC & AH’s Jammu.
Dr Saleem Ur Rehman in his inaugural address highlighted the role of AHA for boosting and enchaining the knowledge and skill which are very useful for nursing professionals working in various institutions for patient health care. He also announced that the similar training will continue in entire Jammu division.
Dr Yashpal Sharma in his presidential address assured full support to AHA Jammu chapter for organizing such courses for nurses and medical professionals at regional level and at national headquarters. He also showed the complete road map to improve health care in J&K by organizing such training workshops.
While addressing, Dr Jasbir Singh said such trainings would be a regular affair as induction programmes, refresher training or advanced trainings for all categories of staff as a routine matter and we will make standard operating procedure for all sorts of trainings.
Dr Arun Sharma (Medical Superintendent, Maternity Hospital Gandhi Nagar and general secretary, AHA Jammu chapter, while presenting welcome address, highlighted the role of AHA.
In the training workshop, more than 100 nursing professionals participated which include participants from GMC Jammu and its associated hospitals, from Directorate of Health Services Jammu, various Government hospitals and private nursing colleges including Stephens College and BN College of Nursing.
During the day-long training programme, sessions were chaired by AHA members Dr Sunita Puri, Dr VK Gupta, Dr Arun Sharma, Dr Narinder Butial and Dr Krishan Kumar.
The valedictory programme was chaired by Dr Yashpal Sharma.
