SRINAGAR, June 3: Government today said one crore pilgrims pay obeisance at Holy Cave of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji in Katra annually.
The Government was replying to a question of MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma in Upper House where in he had asked about the number of pilgrims’ visiting Holy shrine of Vaishno Devi.
In his reply, the Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Housing and Urban Development Department, said considering the importance of religious pilgrimage and tourism of Katra Town, the department vide D.O dated 12.03.2016 has taken up with the concerned Union Ministry for inclusion of Katra and Kargil Towns under AMRUT scheme.
