JAMMU, June 3: All J&K Woods Suppliers Union (WSU) has demanded implementation of the State High Court order which states that Form 25 is not required to sell or transport one’s own wood.
Addressing a press conference, Gulzar Ahmad Pardesi, president, All J&K Woods Suppliers Union, said that farmers are required to obtain Form No. 25 for which the farmers had to pay huge amount to officers concerned as bribe and this money directly goes into the pockets of the officers and not in Government treasuries. “Only blue eyed persons are benefitted and poor farmers are deprived of the benefits and the allegations of theft were being levelled against the poor farmers”, he added.
He said that Form No. 25 is required to buy or sell or transport forest wood and not required for farmers. He also said in other parts of country a farmer does not require Form No. 25 to sell or transport his own wood and no permission is required.
Pardesi has urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to take action against the officials who are harassing and demanding money from them and direct officials to implement the court order in good spirit and save the poor farmers.
Others present on the occasion were Narotam Dutt Sharma, Bashir Ahmad Malik and Sobat Ali.
