One burnt to death, 2 injured in Petrol Tanker accident

RAMBAN, Aug 29: One person was burnt to death while two others sustained serious injuries when a Petrol Tanker met with an accident at Chambalwass falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal Police Station on Jammu Srinagar National Highway previous night.
According to Police, the Petrol Tanker bearing registration number JK09-2366 was on way to Srinagar when it rolled downed in a small nullah while negotiating a curve. Soon after the accident petrol tanker caught fire. Driver of another vehicle, identified as Bagh Hussain son of Noor Hussain of Danwan Kalakot, district Rajouri, who tried to rescue the trapped driver and its helper, was burnt alive on the spot. However, driver and helper of the accidental petrol tanker were rescued by other drivers.
Later a police party headed by SDPO Banihal Abdul Qayoom shifted the injured driver and its helper to sub district hospital where they were referred to SKIMS Srinagar in view of their critical condition.
They have been identified as Sadaam Hussain son of Mohammad Lateef of Danwan Kalakot and Shafiq Ahmed son of Mir Wali of Danwan Kalakot Rajouri.
