One arrested in businessman’s extortion case

JAMMU, Mar 1: Gangyal police arrested a person involved in businessman’s extortion case.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged on February 28 this year by a businessman namely Rahul Mulhan, son of Rajat Mulhan, a resident of Muthi with Police Station Gangyal stating that on February 27 he visited his plot in Bishnah and while returning back, four persons in a car intercepted his car near Sehora, took him hostage and demanded Rs 5 lakh as extortion.
“Three extortionists took me with them in their car and one another drove my car. They keep me ferrying in different areas and finally dropped me near Satwari after taking Rs 5 lakh extortion money and snatching my gold chain”, the complainant stated.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant sections was registered at Gangyal Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the extortionists.
During the course of investigation, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO South Ram Singh and SO South Vinay Sharma conducted series of raids and arrested one of the extortionists, who was identified as Kaka Jatt, a resident of Satwari.
Hunt is going on to arrest the three absconding extortionists and recovery of Rs 5 lakh extortion money and gold chain.
