KATHUA, Nov 2: The Rajbagh Police rescued 16 bovine animals and arrested the kingpin of bovine smugglers at Banari in Marheen area of Kathua district today.
According to police during a routine checking a team of Police station Rajbagh intercepted a bovine smuggler identified as Liyakat Ali S/o Kheer Hussian who was on his way to Punjab with 16 bovine animals. He tried to flee from the area leaving animals behind. However police managed to overpower him.
A case ahs been registered in Police Station Rajbagh under relevant sections of the law and the animals have also been rescued by the police. Police said that he was smuggling these bovine animals to Punjab.
