JAMMU, Dec 7: Condemning the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Panchayati Raj Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar for their failure in getting the release of special grant for Panchayats from Union Government, All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference, (AJKPC) today said that Omar led Coalition Government has rendered Panchayats as helpless institutions.
Anil Sharma, president of the organization, said that due to the casual approach of the State Government especially of Panchayati Raj Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar, the much hyped grant of Rs 10 lakh for each Panchayat of the State has been put to back burner by the Union Government.
Anil said due to continuous efforts of  33,000 Panchayat members, the Union Government had promised to grant special package to the State Government for Panchayat Development Fund on the pattern of MLA CD Fund but the State Government could not pursue the case with Union Government resulting which now there appears no immediate release of the said funds.
