SRINAGAR, July 8: People’s Conference senior vice president and former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil today hit out at former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, saying that National Conference leader can’t befool people any longer as they have understood that his political birth has taken place under BJP rule at the Centre.
Vakil said that Omar as a Minister of State for External Affairs during BJP Government use to tell the world that Kashmir issue was nothing and there were no atrocities being committed against people of the State.
While expressing astonishment, the PC leader said it was unsuitable for Omar to accuse others of supporting the saffron party. He made the remarks during a series of public interactions in Rafiabad and underlined the need of development in the constituency, especially upper areas, which have been deprived of various amenities by the National conference and PDP regimes.
Vakil took an extensive tour of various villages in Rafiabad including Rawoocha, Hardu Chanam, Hunoora, Pazalpora and Gundmulraj and held deliberation with party workers and supporters. He was accompanied by senior party leader Khursheed Ahmad Khan.
The PC leader castigated the National Conference president, Farooq Abdullah and accused him of sacking Prof Saif-ud-Soz (now Congress leader) from the party only because he had casted vote against the BJP.
“Now, Farooq Abdullah just to appease BJP, chanted Bharat Mata ki Jai on the right wing party’s anniversary. So, it is crystal clear, National Conference can go to any extent, even walk over dead bodies, to regain power in the state ,” Vakil said.
He said that the both the parties National Conference and PDP were two sides of the same coin and the parties during their regimes were behind the killing of innocent people in Kashmir.
Vakil said that the hands of Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are soaked in blood of innocent people of Kashmir as around 140 people were killed in 2010 when Omar was Chief Minister and around 150 people were killed in 2016 when Mehbooba was Chief Minister of the state. “Still, they are shedding crocodile tears,” he said.
Meanwhile, addressing public meetings at Hunroo, Pazalpora and Tawoocha, Vakil said, Abdullah dynasty has robbed the State as much as it could and their attempts to hoodwink people to believing that they are protectors of Article 370 won’t bear any fruit this time. Vakil said duplicity and hypocrisy has been the trademark of NC’s politics in Kashmir and father son duo, are once again trying to befool the people of Kashmir.
