JAMMU, Apr 12: Om Chandan Brahma Putra Sanastha Panjgrain, Nagrota organised a symposium on “Kashmir Shaivism”and also solemnised a Maha Yagya for peace and prosperity of the nation, where a large gathering of people from surrounding areas with dignified personalities from Jammu participated. Scholars Pran Nath Koul, Opinder Amberdar and Sanjay Raina Trika threw light on Kashmir Shaivism.
Welcome address was given by Rajinder Premi . Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Culture and Tribal Affairs was the chief guest on the occasion. Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr Arvind Karwani and Shruti Awesthi Regional Director IGMCA Jammu were the guests of honour.
Detailed lectures on Kashmir Shaivism were given by scholars like Opinder Ambardar, Pran Nath Koul of Ishwar Ashram, Ishbar Srinagar and Sanjay Raina. They spoke on Spand Shastra, Pratibigya and non dualism theory of Kashmir Shaivism. They said Shaivism is self realisation. Lord Shiva is present in every human soul and it needs to go deep inside to realise and recognise Him, they added.
They said Kashmir Shaivism is a great philosophy which has been recognised across the world. They also highlighted the contribution of great Shivacharyas including Vasavgupt, Utpaldev, Abhinavgupta and Kshmendra saying that Kashmir Shaivism has made a lot of contribution to Indian aesthetics and Indian philosophy. They stressed on propagation of this philosophy so that every Kashmiri Pandit feels proud of his rich past.
Vote of thanks was given by Sundri Lal. Founder of organization, Sanyasi Chand Ji Raina also graced the occasion. Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor and Kiran Wattal ex Municipal Commissioner and convener, Vishaw Kashmir Samaj Jammu also participated in the function.
Besides, other programmes, Bhajan Kirtan was performed, Zangtrai celebrated and Prashad was served to devotees. Suresh Kumar Gupta, Arvind Karwani blessed the people with their good wishes and support for this noble cause in the service of humanity. Others who spoke were Rajinder Premi, O N Koul president, B K Raina vice president, Thoro Ram Sarpanch Panjgrain.
