Old man killed, another injured in mishaps

JAMMU, Feb 3: An old man was killed and one another person was injured in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a pedestrian identified as Bashir Ahmed Zargar (65) son of Khalik Zargar, resident of Anantnag (presently living at Asrarabad, Sidhra), was hit and seriously injured by a speeding car near Sidhra flyover. He said the injured man was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital while a case in this connection was registered at police station Nagrota,” he added.
Meanwhile, an Army Truck hit and injured a pedestrian at Janipur-High Court Road. The victim identified as Ram Bahadur (55) son of Bahadur Singh, resident of Ganga Nagar (Bantalab) was shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment while Janipur police had taken cognizance of the matter.
